'Food Miles Plus' Activity Resource Pack©
Monday, 21 September 2009

The successful second pilot phase of the Scotland-wide project was evaluated and the report circulated to participants and supporters.  Our grateful thanks are due to all participants and supporters of the project, especially the local pack co-ordinators, and for their very positive feedback.

Given the evaluation results, the pack was deemed to be very useful as a resource for schools and community groups to explore how our food travels from where it is grown to where it is eaten. The primary recommendation is that the pack will be revised in line with the evaluation comments received, and that it will be aimed primarily at community groups rather than schools.

Within Forth Valley, it is intended to make the pack available for use from the NHS Forth Valley Health & Information Resources Service (HIRS) and from Forth Environment Link, as well as making the information pack downloadable as a pdf file from the Forth Valley Food Links and NHS Forth Valley's websites.

Funding will be sought to revise the pack and develop and deliver training to the Community Food Development Workers, before making the pack available throughout Forth Valley.
