The final evaluation report of the ‘Food Miles Plus’ Activity Resource Pack© is now available, following the pilot phase.

The pack was developed by Forth Environment Link (FEL) in partnership with NHS Forth Valley Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, and was piloted across Scotland from September 2008 to January 2009, involving 100 community groups and schools to:

  •  Assess the demand for the resource as a support to the National Food Policy
  • Test and evaluate the revised resource with a Scotland-wide audience and assess its relevance to their studies or food-related work programmes
  • Make recommendations on the future development of the project following the evaluation of the pilot phase

The pack was received enthusiastically by those participating, and the response was very positive.

FEL is extremely grateful to all 100 community groups and schools for taking part in the pilot, to the organisations, agencies and public bodies who helped to promote the pack to potential pilot groups, and to the local co-ordinators who generously gave their time to make the pack accessible to the groups in their areas.

As a result of feedback from the pilot, funding is now being sought to revise the pack into a final version.  Full packs will be made available for use within Forth Valley, and the information booklet will be made available for download from the Forth Valley Food Links website.
