Type of Business/Project: Smallholding
Location: nr Forestmill
Owners: Michael Erskine
Produce: Potatoes, turnips, swedes, kale, strawberries, gooseberries, tayberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, brambles (grown to organic standards but not certified organic)
Target Market: Restaurants, small shops, takeaways, local community

Description of Business/Grant:

Most sales are van-based and deliveries are made from here to businesses and people in the Clacks, Stirling, Falkirk, Kincardine and Dunfermline areas.  The grant purchased fruit trees and bushes to broaden the range of fruit.  The fruit derived from these new plantings will help support sales to a fruit barra(s) in the area, as well as assist the setting up of a box scheme.

Type of Business/Project: Social and Therapeutic Horticulture Project
Location: Formerly Tillicoultry
Owners: A constituted committee of service users.  Central to the establishment has been a holistic and user involvement approach.
Produce: A range of 'as nature-intended' fruit and vegetables
Target Market: Project users and community members

 

Description of Business/Grant: The project provides holistic choices in supporting the sustained recovery of people with mental health issues.  Grant was given to purchase a polytunnel to extend the growing season of a range of fruit and vegetables.

  Type of Business/Project: Allotment Association
  Location: Tillicoultry
  Owners: Tillicoultry Allotments Association
  Produce: Various fruit and vegetables grown by individual allotment holders
  Target Market: Produce mainly for holders' consumption
 

Description of Business:

Grant was given to purchase new shed for the storage of allotment equipment and for use as a meeting place by the allotment association.
