fvfl food producers' forum
In February 2003, FVFL established a local networking group - the 'Food Producers' Forum', a Forth Valley-wide partnership aimed at giving local producers the opportunity to meet up, air their views and gain from training or skill-share opportunities. These networking sessions have included visiting speakers who have covered a variety of topics.  Due to funding limitations, the group no longer meets.

April 2006 Meeting - 'Larder Bytes'

The next meeting of the Food Producers' Forum will be on Tuesday, 11 April 2006 to introduce the successful Larder Bytes initiative and to discuss its development in Forth Valley.  The meeting will be held in the Conference Room, Stirling Business Centre, Wellgreen Place, Stirling, FK8 2DZ from 2.00 - 4.00 pm.

We do hope as many of you as possible will attend as the subject matter offers a hugely successful and practical step forward for local producers wishing for a fair share of the local market.

Jim Mullen of Larder Bytes Ltd, states that the initiative offers local producers new avenues to market and more recognition for their produce.

The Larder Bytes system creates volume orders and a dedicated delivery system that takes the headache away from individual producers.

“arder Bytes Ltd. sources the best local produce and delivers it to the best local restaurants.

Premium local suppliers list the quantity and availability of their produce, the Chefs browse through the products building their menus and shopping lists around produce at its peak.

Most importantly for producers in Forth Valley  we know this system works in Fife!

The Larder Bytes model is also being courted in Aberdeen, Inverness and the Cairngorms National Park. We don’t want to be left behind! Forth Valley is in an ideal central location to offer itself as a model for this centralised order processing system.

Please contact by phone (01786 446 250/5) or email to let us know you can attend.

This meeting focuses on a way of integrating all in the supply chain to maintain high quality produce and reduce transport costs – we look forward to seeing you here.
