Make Dunblane's Green Fair Your Business
Local and eco-friendly food businesses are being invited to have a
presence at The Green Fair, Dunblane at the end of June. The event will be
a coffee morning, craft fair and green business show, organised by the
Scottish Green Party, but will be a non-political show to promote
environmental awareness and encourage "green living". The organisers are
keen to hear from anyone selling organic produce, and in particular,
locally-produced food and drinks. There will also be energy-saving,
renewable energy, local services, crafts, and Fair Trade products.
Space in which to sell your products or promote your business is available
for £15, and there will be a special discount price of £10 for bookings
made before 24 May. The event will take place at Victoria Hall,
Dunblane on Saturday, 28 June 2008, from 10am – 3pm.

Chilli Growers Wanted for
Preserves Making
Catherine Neil, of Catherine's Country Kitchen, is seeking help
anyone who can grow chillis for her unique range of unusual homemade
chutneys. Catherine has previously sourced her chillis from a grower
in Stirling but is unable to obtain them this year.
Catherine said, "I usually buy
a mixed selection of about 10/12 chilli varieties, which the chilli seed
grower puts together. This gives a yield of about 13kg which gives me
about 70 jars and those are sold within 2/3 weeks!! Everyone that has
tried the chutney and likes hot are waiting for a jar and it's nice that
it is seasonal - blink and you've missed it! Hopefully we'll find someone
willing - fingers crossed!"
If anyone can help Catherine,
please contact her on 01506 828535 or email,
cckchutney@aol.com.
Catherine's Country Kitchen can be found at 27 Hillcrest, Bo'ness, EH51
9HT. Opening hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10.00 am - 4.00 pm.

Christmas Comes Early for Catherine's Country Kitchen
Catherine Neil of Catherine's
Country Kitchen had an early Christmas present recently after she was
invited by Scottish Food & Drink to a 'Meet-the-Buyer' session.
There, she was "wooed" by David Sands Convenience Stores who have 23
retail outlets in the kingdom of Fife.
The store has now placed an order to supply 5 of their shops with 5 of
Catherine's chutneys from the 'suitable for diabetics' range. This range
contains no sugar or artificial sweeteners, and are: Celery Surprise,
Fruity Whisky, Red Pepper, Peachy Fig and Lime Pickle. The chutneys will
also be included in their Christmas hampers.
Catherine is also keen to hear from anyone who can grow chilli peppers for
her in their greenhouse - seeds would supplied. She has also just brought
out a Green Tomato Jam so would also like to hear from tomato growers who
would love to sell their surplus tomatoes. Although the season has passed,
Catherine would like to source quince for next year.
You can visit Catherine's Country Kitchen at 27 Hillcrest, Bo'ness, EH51
9HT, Tel: 01506 828535, email:
cckchutney@aol.com. Opening hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10.00 am
