Forth Valley Food Links is to be included in a publication of case studies commissioned by the United Kingdom Public Health Association in Scotland.
The case studies will highlight the links between sustainability and health and wellbeing in Scotland, and will focus on the key areas of: Food, sustainability and health and wellbeing; Physical activity, sustainability and health and wellbeing; Procurement policies, and their links with sustainability and health and wellbeing; and Sustainable communities and health and wellbeing.
The work of Forth Valley Food Links straddles all four areas, but the interest for the study will be in the areas of local food and community benefits. Also of interest is NHS Forth Valley's involvement in and support of the project, and the spin-offs in terms health, well-being and overall quality of life.
The case studies will highlight good practice, effective problem solving strategies and potential opportunities for future development. The publication aims to offer a valuable resource that can be drawn on at all levels.
