Forth Valley Food Links, NHS Forth Valley and Forth Environment Link have produced a ‘Food Miles Plus’ Activity Resource Pack© that encourages exploration and discussion of the many issues involved in getting food from ‘farm-to-fork’.

The pack is an awareness-raising tool about local food, and its impact on the environment, our health, our communities and our local economy. It will help people to think about making informed choices about buying more healthy and sustainable food, and provide information about local food, and local food initiatives.

Square Foot Gardening is a “new way to garden in less space with less work…no heavy digging or all-at-once harvest, less watering, weeding and thinning” .  It is a system of gardening developed by Mel Bartholomew in the USA that uses a number of square foot beds to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs.
