boness_greenmap.jpgThe community involvement phase of the Forth Valley Orchard Regeneration Initiative is now underway, and we are inviting you to get involved.

Forth Valley Food Links will be holding a series of Green Mapping  workshops throughout Forth Valley in November and December, to enable communities and individuals to participate more fully in the initiative.  Green Mapping is a very 'hands-on' and informal way for communities to express what is important to them in terms of green living, nature and cultural resources, and recording information about a local area.  For an example of a local Green Map go to the Clackmannanshire Green Map . We will be looking for information on the orchards and fruit trees of Forth Valley (Clacks, Falkirk & Stirling areas) - where they are located, their type, age, condition, current use etc, and whether there is interest in creating & managing orchards, maintaining existing trees, or using the fruit.

The charity Action for Change is running the workshops in Bo'ness, Stirling, and Balfron.  Venues for Clackmannanshire and another event in Falkirk will be announced. Events have taken place so far at United Auctions in Stirling, Bo'ness and Callander.

Mike Trevett from Action for Change will also be available to talk to groups across Forth Valley to find out more about the local orchards. To book Mike, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . There are a number of ways that you can contribute information:
