organic_fortnight.gifThe Soil Association is encouraging people in Scotland to ‘Choose Organic Everyday’ for Soil Association Organic Fortnight, 3-17 September 2010.

Now in its fifth year, Soil Association Organic Fortnight is an annual campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of organic production. Organic is great for your well-being and the planet, is kind to animals and wildlife and is GM-free.

Choosing organic helps us to make a big difference - simply through the way we shop.

People across Scotland, who want to support organic production, are invited to switch to organic alternatives of products they use everyday.

Juliet Wilson, Communications and Marketing Manager, Soil Association Scotland said: “We hope that Organic Fortnight will encourage people to enjoy the benefits of everyday organic products. Organic is not necessarily more expensive. Where it does cost a little more, shoppers are paying for the extra care that organic producers place on the environment and animal welfare.”

During the fortnight supporters will be hosting events across the UK, from organic breakfasts at work and farm open days to organic cookery lessons in schools and organic fashion shows.
