The Food & Health Alliance is urging people to sign up for food advocacy workshops.

The National Food Policy and review of the Scottish Diet Action Plan called for a ‘closer integration between the policy goals of improving Scotland’s diet-related health and those of social justice, sustainable development and agriculture’ and ‘ re-establish the grounds for engagement with the food industry in Scotland so that public health and sustainability are key drivers for food production and supply.’

The Food & Health Alliance is therefore running two workshops that look at advocacy as a means of social action to effect changes on food policy change at a strategic and local level. They are on Thursday, 4 February – Hilton Treetops, Aberdeen, and Friday, 5 February – Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow.

Advocacy for food could include:
• Safe food
• Local food by supporting local suppliers
• Food security
• Healthy food
• Sustainable food
• Access to affordable, sustainable, healthy food
