A working group of organisations and projects - including Forth Valley Food Links - are currently progressing plans to run food events in Dawson, Falkirk in March 2010.

..This follows the successful Health Activities Day in September organised by the Carron Connect Partnership, the outcome of which was to take forward the healthy eating agenda in the area.

The partners aim to bring the Cooking Bus to the Dawson area for a week later in the year, but the March event will encourage people to grow their own food and possibly have some ready to co-incide with the bus.

Forth Valley Food Links will be running Square Foot Garden Taster sessions, seed sprouting and other local food activities, to encourage people to grow their own food.
Participating organisations are: Carron Connect, Dawson Centre, Langlees Family Centre, local schools with a focus on the Health Promoting Schools Framework, NHS Forth Valley Food Development Team, Community Learning and Development Workers, CVS Falkirk and District Development Staff, Falkirk Health Improvement Team, Forth Environment Link (Forth Valley Food Links).
